Jessica Paterson

I am a versatile teacher. I have experience working long term in the same preschool. I understand the rhythms, dynamics and needs of daily preschool work. I have experience working long term and short term relieving stints under both an agency and for a private preschool. I understand the adaptability required of a reliever and how to build a quick rapport with tamariki, kaiako, parents and whanau.

The early years are essential to the formation of the whole person. Tamariki deserve great patience, kindness and delight. I strive to be a teacher who will observe, consider and act appropriately to the needs of each tamaiti and to the needs of the tamariki as a group. 

Learning is most effective when children feel they are safe, valued and understood members of a group. I enjoy extending children in their whole person; their current interests, their emotional and social skills and their spiritual wellbeing.
