- MRL Transport & Contracting is a family business in the Wellington region providing services in the roading, construction & transport industry having secured contracts with Transfield Services being the supplier of asphalt cartage and also with CSL Traffic/Downers Engineering as its Civil Contractor.
- My job was mostly working safely and co-operatively at road opening operations for service (electrical supply) trenches.
- This involves opening the surface and excavating and then, once service operations have been completed, backfilling and compacting.
- We did projects around the Lower Hutt, Wellington City and Kapiti areas, this also included general laboring for private driveways.
- One of the biggest projects I worked on was the underpass in central Wellington (named Arras Tunnel) which was created to allow space for National War Memorial Park to be built on top.
