Reporting to the General Manager, the Project Engineer will provide Quality Assurance and Quality Surveying duties for Civil and Asphalt Crews. Maintain client relations while assisting with the administration of Company’s policies and procedures to oversee the day-to-day administrative operations. The Project Engineer will be a client key account manager and works actively, internally, and externally with the out-source vendors to ensure that the organisation’s Finance, IT, and Human Resources needs are met. The Project Engineer is responsible for managing the end of month claims, and cost analysis and assists with preparations of the payroll. The Project Engineer assists the General Manager in preparing for the Board of Directors and other governance meetings. Ultimately, the Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the organization is providing quality control services, can address and resolve client complaints and maximises project efficiency and profitability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Field Duties:
- Manage compliance, quality control, quality assurance and specifications for Civil and Asphalt Crews.
- Manage Quality Surveying standards alongside scoping and pricing projects to the specifications of our clients.
- Plant allocation, recording and documentation on all civil construction plant to be monitored daily for plant optimisation.
Administrative:
- Provide or oversee centralised operations and procedures of services for the Company.
- Regulate policies and procedures to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Manage and send claims to clients and prepare monthly cost analysis for Civil and Asphalt Jobs.
- Oversee the preparation, analysis, negotiation, and review of contracts related to purchasing materials, supplies, products, or services.
- Create and maintain effective internal controls for equipment inventory.
- Maintain and safeguard agency records.
- Manage the organisation’s office and storage space. Perform as liaison with various vendors, providing maintenance, security, and other occupancy services.
- Plan and coordinate staff development and monthly agency-wide staff meetings.
- Works with management team and staff to update and maintain communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Human Resources:
- Collect/approve all timecards and payroll information of employees and transmit to payroll.
- When required, assist managers with personnel issues and administration of personnel policies.
- When required, conduct new employee orientation, and exit interviews, forward employee materials to Human Resources.
- Assist Manager in recruitment process.
- Maintain Employee personnel files.
Finance:
- Develop external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g., IT, accounting firm, and human resources.
- Code vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursement forms and transmit to Accounting Department.
- Review and approve weekly payable for processing.
- Prepare month end program reports for office equipment and send to Accounting Department.
- Assist Accounting Department in preparing monthly grant invoices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
