In March 2016 Cabinet approved the Expert Advisory Panels final report and it was agreed that a new Ministry would be created (Ministry of Children, Oranga Tamariki).

The Secretariat transitioned into the Investing in Children Programme. My role supported the Programme Director and Associate Director. At the end of the project, the Programme Director, who is the National Managing Partner at KPMG, then asked me to join KPMG to assist him.

In April 2015 the Minister for Social Development established the Modernising Child Youth and Family Expert Panel to oversee the development of a new child-centric operating model for CYF. The Secretariat was then created to support the Expert Panel. In 10 months, the Expert Panel completed two reports; the Interim Report in June 2015, and in December 2015 the Final Report was delivered to the Minister. My Manager from MSD (below) asked me to go with her to the Secretariat.
