I am an individual pertaining a high moral character, with a genuine love for people with a constant pursuit to make a difference, lending a helping hand at any opportune moment. With experience in various youth working roles and a complete youth work qualification. Empowering youths in a positive, mana enhancing and strength based approaches. Which is in honour of Te Tiriti and through Ara Taiohi principles.

A career goal of mine is to share my morale and integrity within a job where I can help develop and contribute towards the benefit of others and the community. When they thrive, we thrive.

  • Designed, led, and evaluated programs for tamariki and rangatahi, fostering personal growth, citizenship and community connection.
  • Facilitate Te Whare Wairua (the youth programme) and the Holiday Programme. As well as various other projects.
  • Assisted youth their personal development and life skills such as social skills, coping skills, leadership and manaakitanga.
  • Built and maintained strong, trusting positive relationships with local tamariki/rangatahi, whaanau and networks.
  • Acted as a tuakana (mentor/role model), guiding rangatahi in discovering their mana motuhake and stepping into their rangatira space.
  • Encouraged youth to recognise their mana and potential. Using a strength based approach to help them understand that they are valued, capable, and have made unique contributions to make to their community.
  • Facilitated liminal experiences through off-site activities and excursions, providing safe spaces for rangatahi to step outside their normal environments, reflect, and grow.

  • I carried out my mahi nonjudgmentally, becoming a consistent and positive figure for the rangatahi.
  • Had meaningful kōrero with their whānau, making sure their voices were heard, and that they were fully on board with the process.
