I am an experienced and qualified mechanical engineer with an eye for detail and extensive knowledge in maintenance, finding and diagnose faults and carrying out repairs. My experience covers a wide range of servicing engineering equipment/plants, as well as measuring, designing and manufacturing precision parts. I enjoy working as part of a team, have a strong sense of integrity and work to a high health and safety standard.
The manufacturing of high end cars that are build from scratch. This involves the design process of complex parts and manufacturing those parts on the lathe or mill, building and welding of the steel chassis and assembly and repair or restoration of such vehicles.
Manufacturing and welding farm machinery, including the installation and set up of new manufacturing equipment and ensuring the functionality of the production line.
Servicing and maintaining the biggest ship-lift of its kind in Europe. This position required a wide range of tasks to be carried out such as scheduled maintenance and repair of the systems, manufacturing unique spare parts on the tooling machines, servicing of the canals used by the cargo ships with an array of locks, gates and pump stations. The pumps that maintain the water level in the canals being somewhat similar to the hydro turbines. Working on heights was also a requirement and a regular accurance.
During my training to qualify as industrial mechanic, with the focus being on maintenance, I gained a wide range of skills that exceed the general basic metal working and mechanical skills that are normally needed in this job. Due to the wide range of work carried out in this workplace, this included the servicing maintenance and repair of the lock systems, pump stations, heavy diesel engines, on board systems on the vessels in the shipyard as well as learning all the machining and manufacturing skills in the workshop.
