Originally from Nelson, I am currently a second-year student at the University of Canterbury, studying towards a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Financial Engineering. I am an active and hardworking individual who is willing to put in the effort to achieve excellent results. While studying, I am becoming proficient in the coding languages R and Python, and I will start learning JavaScript next year as part of my course. I have achieved sporting success at both national and international levels and bring this same level of commitment to everything I do. I work well with team members and know how to function effectively at a high level. I also have experience in leadership roles at the international sporting level. I enjoy studying mathematics at university, and it is something I would like to feature heavily in my future career.
I volunteered as a basketball coach for many age group and school teams in Nelson. Most notably the Waimea College junior team from 2022-2023
Currently employed there (casual contract) even though I am studying and living in Christchurch. Whenever I am back in Nelson I usually pick up a few shifts. Mainly over the Christmas period.
Helping out around the pharmacy, mainly with customers.
Would do the odd job like sorting sensitive documents to be destroyed and checking that the medicine that was ordered, matched the order sheet
Alongside studying full-time, for the past two years I have also been playing for the Canterbury Rams in the New Zealand National Basketball League (NZNBL). I have been fortunate enough to represent New Zealand in multiple age-group national teams over the past years, most recently being a New Zealand Under-19 select team that traveled to China in April.
Music is also a big interest of mine. While in high school, I completed the Trinity College of London performance exams for drumming. I completed grades three, five, and seven with merit and, finally, grade eight with distinction.
