Jorden Henare

Kiaora. My name is Jorden Henare and i am applying for this role as i have a real passion for helping children/rangatahi thrive to be the best they can be. I am a father, stepfather, brother and son.

I grew up an went to school in Aranui and attend kapa haka and also a music course through Nga Maata Waka at Nga Hau e Wha marae.

I have grown through my own childhood trauma as well as addiction in my young adult life, and accomplished a lot of cool feats that i feel youth will find inspiring and relatable.

I am currently a profesional tattoo artist and musician, and i am also a well accomplished sportsman, playing Canterbury representative as well as New Zealand rep Ice Hockey from age 15 through to 25. I was the assistant captain of some of those rep teams giving me great work ethic in team environments and leadership skills.

Overall i have a real passion for helping others and I know first hand what it can take to gain trust of young people facing their own difficulties and i believe i have a real gift for connecting with and understanding others
