Safetycare is a online health and safety training solution designed to make safety training convenient for workplaces all over the world.
I was lucky enough to be a part of the initial team to introduce Safetycare to the US market. I was tasked with growing and training a sales team to establish a customer base in the US. I was actively selling as well as leading the sales team and working very closely with our General Manager to identify which sales strategy best worked in this market.
It was a privilege to have had this opportunity and I was able to learn a lot about how to bring an upstart to life. Fortunately we were able to find and establish a great strategy that lead to consistent sales. I then was tasked with ensuring the future of the office was secured by mentoring a replacement to take over my role as I moved forward in my career which I was able to achieve. The company is continuing to grow rapidly and I have a strong relationship with everybody within the organization.
This was the most challenging yet most enjoyable role of my career.
I was managing a sales team and increasing then turnover of an office that had been stagnant for 20+ years. This role forced me to think creatively to manage and motivate a group of under performing sales representatives with an abundance of sales experience prior to my arrival.
In my time in this role I decided to lead by example and show the existing team that there's more than one way to sell our product. Once this had been established I continued to be active selling as well as working with the team to ensure they were performing at their best.
We had a 72% increase in sales in our first full financial year together which broke every record the office and the company had set. We had 11/12 best ever months and many of our reps had their best ever financial years. These achievements lead to our owner offering me an opportunity to establish the US sales team. I continued to support that Canadian office and their new Sales Manager while working in the US.
Working under great leadership I was able to flourish in this role leading me to the next roles as National Sales Manager.
I was able to exceed all sales targets and demonstrate an ability to understand and apply new sales techniques. this allowed me to consistently be among the top performing Sales Representatives in the company monthly.
I learned a lot from my National Sales Manager which made me a better Sales Representative and leader.
