  • Leadership of the NZ Line 2 Compliance team which includes Regulatory Affairs (circa 22 staff). Accountable for the strategic direction of compliance to meet the overall Risk Management Strategy including the overall enterprise culture of compliance risk ownership. Key achievements:
  • Transformation of the Line 2 Compliance team as part of the wider Non-Financial Risk transformation, building a more adaptive and capable team able to meet the growing challenges of both the NZ regulators and business stakeholders.
  • Implemented a wholesale change to the ANZ prudential compliance strategy as part of the wider RBNZ s.95. This work transformed ANZ’s approach to compliance, introducing a more modern traceable and data driven methodology and an integrated assurance programme.
  • Accountable for the compliance approach to the Financial Services Legislation Amendment Act 2019 (FSLAA) and the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003 (CCCFA) which leveraged the prudential work and further matured the traceability aspects which over time will generate better data on how we demonstrate compliance with the regulation.
  • Business owner of the Financial Markets (Conduct of Institutions) Amendment Act 2022 (COFI) with oversight of the implementation including the license application and Fair Conduct Program.
  • Regular, valued contributor to the New Zealand Leadership Team (Executive) and Board providing training, updates, and opinions on key compliance regimes (CCCFA, Conduct, Conditions of Registration, Privacy, Financial Market Services Licenses).
