In social work, where individuals work alongside others with the aim of making a real difference in people's lives, the journey often begins with personal experiences that ignite a passion for change. Having strong family values, my lived experiences have exposed me to different world views. I am a person who embraces diversity, having traveled, and lived in Africa, Spain, Asia, Indonesia and Europe, these experiences have allowed me to have insight and develop other understanding to other customs and cultures.

I recognize that my own life experiences, both personal and professional, have paved the way for a career as a social worker. I am devoted to addressing social problems, advocating for vulnerable people, and tackling issues of social injustice. But also understand the importance of self-care and maintaining a healthy work / life balance.

Having worked 20 plus years in social work roles. I have experience in working in challenging environments, and confidently demonstrate professionalism, while showing empathy. Applying a work ethic that demonstrates understandings of Legislation, policies, and procedures. My work experience has been invaluable in enabling me to develop skills, gain knowledge and an appreciation of others. I am a motivated person, that can self-manage, plan, and organize, meeting professional goals and outcomes within appropriate time frames.

In times when I have been employed in leadership roles, I have applied a strengths perspective, with the aim for all to feel valued, while at the same time being a proactive team member
