Hi there My name is Kaea Deacon I am into my 3rd year farming as a Farm assistant. I am looking to up skill into a 2ic/managing role with some guidance, I’m seeking new employment due to feeling like I have not been given the opportunities to grow or learn and feel as I’m better off expanding my knowledge elsewhere. I can carry out most day to day things to run an efficient farming operation such as, Milking in a rotary or herringbone, Detecting and treating illnesses, Confidently operate tractors incl feed wagons/bale feeders as well as mower I also have experience shifting and moving irrigators, setting up brake fences, fixing water problems and following a efficient weed management program. I have completed L3 animal health and L3 bio security through ITO and am open to further the courses. I love farming because we’re working outdoors and with animals and everyday comes with its own challenge. In my free time I enjoy hunting, fishing and in the summer my partner and I like to head to our favourite camping spots up north. I come with a positive can do attitude, strong worth ethic and a friendly sense of humour. My partner can also confidently milk in a Rotary or Herringbone and has 2 seasons calf rearing experience, so relief work for her would be ideal but not essential. We come with a German shepherd pup, small trained house dog and cat who are all well behaved. I’m really passionate about farming and find this industry is where my best interest are. I’m eager to gain more knowledge and grow as a farmer to further myself in the industry
