  • 12 hour shifts 5 days a week. As an employee at Putaruru Water Factory, I have been able to demonstrate my dedication and perseverance from a young age (13yrs old). This job was a great challenge and experience as I was located far from friends and family and needed to have a lot of discipline and drive to work 6am - 6pm shifts 5x a week. I was in charge of sanitising the bottles, manually unloading crates of bottles and keeping regular hygiene in all areas of the factory. I believe this experience set me up to understand the value of time and money while enhancing my mental strength. I was always offered to come back each holiday as I had proven myself to be a key member of the team.

  • Currently I work as a Licensed Salesperson for Harcourts Blue Ribbon. I have achieved many awards in my office, I surpassed a lot of colleagues within our branch that have been in Real Estate for over 30 years. My competitive nature and social skills allowed me to thrive instantly. I made my first sale within 2 weeks of starting which was the toughest time for most Real Estate agents to make any sales (COVID). Real Estate entails being, organised, structured, liked, available 24/7, creating great rapport with clients, beat competition and upsell myself and the brand, being trustworthy, working with integrity, sharing my point of difference, social media and marketing skills, confidence (cold calling, door knocking), effective and efficient communication, negotiating and much more.

  • I started at McDonalds as a more worthy after school for more available hours. During my time of working at McDonalds I quickly made my way up to day shift duty manager. I had also proven to have excellent Communication, leadership, persistence, knowledge and management skills that I was then personally asked to move higher in this industry. My willingness to take on more responsibility was always commended as well as the kindness I had for my staff which was most rewarding. Not only did I care about my job, but also the people and doing the best for my company by driving all targets and succeeding. As a shift manager I was required to have my paperwork ready a day before this included (positioning of crew, targets, sales for the day and previous day, products that need to be kept an eye on, labour control etc) I would cash up at the end of my shifts as well as deal with continuously checking there was enough change in all tills throughout the day. I was also in charge of making sure all staff arrived on time for their shift, managing breaks and clock off times. I was constantly needing to manage multiple things at once (cleanliness inside and outside of the restaurant, product usage, quality of food, customer complaints, sending breaks of about 10 staff in a timely manner, ensuring targets were being met, communicating emails, preparing for rushes and highest hours and more.) all while trying my best to save labour by pre judgement and positioning most effectively. I was often relied on to get things done as I always had the drive and knowledge to reach targets without fail.

  • My job here started as an after school cleaning job which led into being a part/full time member of the team at Murray Hunt. My job consisted of serving our customers with the giftware and advising them of our best products. I would also direct them to what they were after (flooring, beds etc) or something as close as possible to it. I was given the front of the shop to look after while ordering stock and processing stock through our system. I would take the phone calls and pass the messages on to the correct member required and communicate/write messages when not present. For occasions, I would also gift wrap presents as well as ensuring the entire shop was clean. As I grew more in this industry I was also given the luxury to set up displays to attract our customers. Every now and then I would do deliveries of beds with another Co - Worker as I had the physical strength to do so. Because I was still at school, I was recognised for my commitment and pride in my job as I was always willing to work more hours if they needed me and always kept the shop clean and beautiful. I grew my creativity and confidence here with designing displays, suggesting my opinion for help of choice and interacting with customers.
