I am a motivated emerging clinical psychologist with meaningful hands-on experience supporting young people through my work at Youthline. In this role, I offered empathetic guidance, assessed risk, and assisted with training activities, all of which strengthened my confidence in engaging thoughtfully with others. These experiences helped me develop clear, sensitive communication skills and the ability to remain grounded and professional in challenging situations, capacities that I believe are essential for advanced psychological study.
My academic background in Psychology and Commerce at Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington has equipped me with strong analytical, interpersonal, and collaborative skills. Working in community-centred environments has deepened my interest in human behaviour and reinforced my commitment to mental health support, both in research and practice.
I value adaptability, reflection, and ongoing personal and professional growth. I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to join the Psychology Honours programme at UC and to contribute positively to its learning environment. I am ready to engage fully with the academic and research demands of the Honours year, and I look forward to building the methodological, theoretical, and applied foundations needed for postgraduate clinical training.
