KATHERINE KRUGER

Auckland,AUK

Summary

I am passionate about education and motivated by the opportunity to support my students' progress throughout their learning journeys. With over 15 years of experience working with children, my enjoyment and expertise in this field continue to grow.

Throughout my teaching career in South Africa, I taught preschool as well as primary and middle school levels. This experience has highlighted the importance of adapting my approach to meet each learner's individual needs.

In April 2017, after immigrating to New Zealand, I joined Murrays Bay School, where I collaborated with a supportive group of Year 5 teachers in an Innovative Learning Environment. During my time there, I learned the importance of helping students develop a range of skills and capabilities to become confident thinkers who are motivated to keep learning throughout their lives.

In January 2019, I joined Year 6 at KingsWay Primary, where I continue to gain valuable insights into holistic education, emphasising the importance of nurturing each child's academic, social, and emotional development. Within this vibrant school community, I have had the privilege of building strong relationships with students, their whānau, and a fantastic group of teachers. Since January 2023, my role as Head of Learning for the Year 6 team has provided me with valuable leadership experience and strengthened my commitment to ongoing professional growth.

I am seeking a permanent position in the primary or middle school (Year 4-7) phase. I hope to join a supportive and diverse school in the Auckland area where I can bring my passion for children and education.
