Te Whatu Ora - Ward 17
01.2023 - Current

Working with other registered nurses to provide planned treatment and care for clients, while also working with the wider MDT to assess and identify concerns for patients prior to discharge. My responsibilities in this role are as follows; assessment of clients including observations, wounds, and skin assessments; administration of medications, assisting with rehabilitation, and promoting independence with client ADLs.

While working as nurse in charge my responsibilities are as follows; coordinating and assessing clients arriving and discharging to and from the ward, providing support to fellow RNs with their patient load, and escalating and managing deteriorating patients appropriately.

Registered Nurse/ Nurse In Charge (NIC)

Te Whatu Ora - Flex Care Ward (6 Week Secondment)
07.2025 - 08.2025

While on secondment to Flex Care ward, I assisted with setting up a new ward so that it was fit for purpose. While in this high flow area my responsibilities while on the floor remained the same as my prior role in General Medicine.

My roles and responsibilities while nurse in charge in Flex Care were as follows; collecting formation on patients on the ward and identifying if they require referrals to the wider MDT and specialist areas; running the MDT meeting and discussing patients and what they may need to discharge home safely. Providing support for nurses assigned to support Flex Care from other wards to upskill their capabilities in a new ward while still maintaining appropriate levels of patient care.
