Since I finished my apprenticeship I have worked in several joineries, both in Germany and New Zealand, building furniture, stairs and kitchens. From sharing my own business with my partner in Germany to working with the team at Masterwood in Cromwell.
From 2012 to 2014 I have worked as a joiner in the production of timber windows and doors. This gave me a good understanding of work procedures and the product.
In 2014 my responsibilities shifted from the factory to the office where I am handling most of the contacts to clients, builders and architects. This involves dealing with incoming phone calls, emails and customer visits, generating quotes & order confirmations, preparing work orders and cutting lists.
Using specialized software I have worked on optimizing data, developing standard and custom details and improving work-flow. Working on my own from plans was as much part of my job as working with builders, architects and and our team. I have lately started to self train on Auto CAD.
