Outpatient Clinic consists of a variety of different clinics, that take place throughout the week. Completed a 5 week placement.

• Assisted in assessment and care of patients across various outpatient specialties
• Recorded vital signs, bladders scans, peak flow tests, assisted in cystoscopies under supervision of precepting RN
• Collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to co-ordinate patient care under supervision of precepting RN
• Maintained accurate documentation
• Shadowed House Officers and Registrars in order to gain a deeper knowledge of the various specialties present such as otorhinolaryngology, cystoscope clinic, skin clinic, respiratory clinic.

Toru is a 30 bed ward, with a General Surgical focus in colorectal, breast and endocrine surgery. Completed an 8 week placement.

• Assisted in pre-operative and post-operative assessments
• Developed strong base in knowledge with regard to pre-operative, post-operative assessments, pathophysiology of colorectal disease and diagnoses.
• Collaborated effectively within a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans

• Administered medications under supervision, ensuring accurate documentation, observing efficacy of medication and possible side effects

Waitemata Comunity Mental Health Centre is a public mental health service centre. Completed 4 week placement.

• Supported mental health assessments and ongoing care plans for clients with psychiatric conditions under RN supervision
• Engaged in therapeutic communication, when able to, built rapport with clients
• Participated in home visits, risk assessments under RN supervision
• Elevated knowledge of referrals and mental health services
• Maintained accurate and confidential clinical documentation
