My role as a caregiver was definitely the most rewarding job I’ve ever had. I worked at summerset on level 2 caring for paitents who required full assistance daily. This included some hoisting, monitoring fluids, two hourly toileting and charting. It wasn’t all about getting the elderly ready for the day to me it was being able to communicate with each individual, help him/her manage how they are feeling that day. I was all about forming a bond, earning trust, sharing my own story’s, making everyone laugh, feel happy and feel like he/she had a purpose. I’m a very independent, highly focused, positive professional. I want to be able to give back, by helping our elderly they are the ones who need it the most.
I work for my husband and his business partner for their local building business. Twice a week I clean the clan construction office as well as twice a month I go into a new build the night before clan construction hand their clients keys over, I spend around three hours wiping away any builders dust in every room/spot possible I vacuum and leave it sparkling new ready for clients to move into their brand new home. I meet some of the home owners and they are always happy and grateful for my work.
I have the ability to effectively communicate, understand and empathise I treat everyone I meet with the most lovely manner and I respect everyone’s values and opinions I see myself as a motivated, open-minded hard working woman I’m as humble as they come and this is a quality I adore about me
Caregiving accomplishments- I was nominated and won caregiver of the year Summerset retirement village’s New Zealand in 2020. Summerset flew myself and our nominated registered nurse to Villa Maria in Auckland for dinner and the most beautiful ceremony to receive our awards. This was the most heart warming moment.
