  • Initially employed by Roland Wimmers clothing factory as a Clothing Cutter, I eventually worked my way up into the role of Clothing Fuser. Duties in these roles comprised –
  • Designing banking uniforms
  • Maintaining a pristine work station to ensure the high quality of the work (i.e. no loose threads stitched into clothing, or fabric cut incorrectly contributing to waste)
  • Accurately measuring and cutting fabric and garments in line with patterns and clothing designs
  • Loading pieces into the cutting machine
  • Handing prepared pieces over to the fusers
  • Upon moving into the fabric fuser role, I took all the cut pieces and fused the fabric ensuring items were ready for the sewing team to assemble and finalize the following day.

  • Opening the store up three days per week, and closing the store one night a week
  • Managing staff rosters and breaks each day to ensure full coverage and reduced customer wait times
  • Providing comprehensive training to all new staff including site inductions, how to report hazards, health and safety procedures, how to properly use the scanning and till functions, how to load and process vouchers and manage payments, and how to handle customer complaints and phone-based enquiries
