Summary

At Bu-Mac Engineering, I have gained 13 years experience working as a Fitter Machinist/CNC programmer with propriety software. I have grown my expertise in CAD/CAM software, precision measuring and machining/fabricating processes. Mechanical aptitude and proactive approach to troubleshooting has resulted in consistently completing projects on time and within tolerance. I am trusted to look after apprentices doing overtime and opening/locking up the workshop. I have worked on everything from food processing machinery to movie props, tractors to race cars. I pride myself in being reliable and on time. I often work lots of overtime whenever needed. The time has come where I am wanting to further my skills and step into a supervisory position.

  • Utilized CAD and CAM software to design models, tool paths, select cutting tools and set machine parameters.
  • Measured, examined or tested completed units to check for defects and verify conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers.
  • Trained and mentored new and existing machinists on proper machining techniques and machine use
  • Established machining parameters and test runs for new parts and components.
  • Calibrated and aligned/levelled machines for proper functioning.
  • Studied sample parts, drawings or engineering information to determine methods needed to fabricate/design components
  • Collaborated with engineers and other machinists to develop optimal machining processes.
  • Optimized tooling performance through regular inspection, cleaning, sharpening or replacing worn tools as needed and utilising feed and speed optimisers
  • Completed projects on time and under budget and maintained equipment and tools.
  • Create components within tolerance
  • Adjusted machines to increase productivity for runs.
  • Used CNC and manual equipment to perform both initial and final machining.
  • Demonstrated flexibility in working with various materials, including metals, plastics, and composites, to produce high-quality machined components.
  • Operated drill presses, lathes and milling machines to produce required parts.
  • Operate/set CNC Lathes, Machine centres with auxiliary 4th axis
  • Read and interpreted working drawings and technical drawings to determine parts dimensions.
  • Utilized micrometers and calipers to measure and verify precise tolerances.
  • Inspected completed parts to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Lubricated parts and performed minor and preventive maintenance to improve machine function and increase lifespan..
  • Reduced error and non-conformances with by utilising fixtures and cutting tools on CNC machines.
