· Project Scope:
This project was to undertake emergency repairs, and construction to multiple sections of the Wastewater Treatment plant, that were impacted by a large fire to the existing trickling filter process at the Christchurch Wastewater Treatment Plant.
· The resulting damage of this fire was to the main secondary treatment process,
Seipp Construction were Contracted to undertake an immediate response to help get two main components of the treatment process up and running.
The scope was for the following:
Construction of a new bypass pipeline to bypass the existing tricking filter system, capable of 1400l/s flow rates.
Construction of a new treatment system utilizing aerators within two of the existing four clarifier tanks, including over pumping system for 2000l/s
Seipp Construction was heavily involved in identifying the concepts and solutions, which were then developed/designed into a working system. The resulting works involved the following
Bypass Construction
· Construction of a Twin Bypass Pipeline, using 2 x 630mm HDPE bypass pipes.
· Temporary and Permanent Overground supports
· Concrete protection slab, and slabs for supports
Aerator and Over pumping Construction
· Supply and installation of 16 Over pumping Pumps
· Supply and Installation of the 280 and 630mm HDPE pipework for all 16 pumps
· Temporary and Permanent Overground Supports
· New 11kva Line and Transformer
· MLC-P Switch building Construction
· Switchboard supply and installation
· PLC Supply and Installation and Scada install
· All associated electrical installation works
