Axe Throwing Coach

As an Axe-pert I have been involved with:

  • Coordinating group events such as corporate team building activities, birthday parties, bachelor and bachelorette parties.
  • Instructed axe throwing techniques to new and experienced participants between the ages of 12 through to 103, ensuring safety protocols were followed at all times by both staff members and participants alike.
  • Fostered a positive and motivational environment to boost team morale and cohesion.
  • Assisted with setting up of the arena prior to start of each session which included placing targets, lining up mats.

Since being promoted to Head Axe-pert, I have been involved with:

  • Managed front desk operations such as checking customers in when they arrive, taking payments.
  • Maintained a clean and organized facility, including sanitizing all equipment after each use.
  • Implemented team practice, meeting and game schedules and communicated important information to players, staff and families.
  • Assisted customers with booking reservations online or over the phone for individual or group sessions.
  • Conducted regular training sessions with new employees regarding safety protocols and customer service standards.
  • Developed marketing strategies to attract new customers through social media platforms and email campaigns.
  • Advised customers on different packages available based on their needs.
  • Monitored inventory levels of supplies necessary for running axe throwing sessions and venue needs successfully.

  • My main role in this job is to provide a respectful and pleasant customer service experience to all customers in the bar
  • I have other duties that include, front door cashier, glassie, product restock and occasionally doing security
  • Throughout this job I have learnt how to build different relationships with customers from all walks of life, how to communicate with the customers and my colleagues in a way that will help resolve any issues that may occur in these sorts of environments for example fights, arguments and harassment etc
  • Glassie and night cleaning is probably the second most important role of my job as it is part of keeping our customers safe from any hazards like broken glass, spills and just overall cleanliness of the bar itself
  • When I am a glassie, I am on my feet 100% of the time as I go around the facility picking up glasses, clearing tables, keeping toilets clean and checked and sweeping up broken bottles on the dancefloor
  • This job has built in my confidence in myself by improving my communication skills with people, even in difficult situations, it has helped me to think quickly on my feet and has helped to improve my memory skills by remembering drink recipes, customers names and faces

  • Company Overview: Raise up is a youth group located in the Massey YMCA
  • Some events I have been involved with have been Glow it up a neon rave, the movement and toddler’s day out
  • All Raise Up events are community youth based
  • The movement was done in the schools where the crew attended, we had to come up with an activity and get our school peers involved
  • Glow it up was a neon themed dance party in the YMCA
  • My job was to take photos and place posters up around the community to promote the event
  • Since I have been at Raise Up I have mc’ed for the basketball finals, attended the Henderson board meeting where I spoke as Raise Up for our youth space project and I was also awarded volunteer of the year
  • During the events we have done I was also assigned team leader for three successful events
  • Raise up is a youth group located in the Massey YMCA

Gymnastics Coach

  • As a gymnastics coach I would work with 4-12-year-old children and I helped them with the floor routines and basic gymnastics apparatuses
  • I did this for about 8 months and enjoyed working with all sorts of different age groups and people
  • Being a gymnastics coach was my first proper job even though it was volunteer work
  • It really helped with my social skills and leadership skills, but also it helped me with the whole process of getting a job in the future by giving me the confidence in an interview and showing me what makes a good team member
