Work History

Acupuncturist

Newtown Acupuncture
09.2021 - Current

Self-Employed Acupuncturist working apart of a team of other Acupuncturists, Physiotherapists, Massage therapists, and a Registered Nurse.

Acupuncturist

Sports and Pain Clinic/Motion Health
02.2016 - 10.2020
  • I spent 5 years working in a team environment alongside many skilled practitioners, including two Musculoskeletal Pain Specialists, Physio therapists, Chiropractors, and General Practitioners.
  • My role here was as a full time Acupuncturist, I also worked an extra day creating the specialists ARTP’s and passing them on to ACC.
  • I gained a lot of experience treating pain and sports injuries, as well as gaining the skills to understand and read Specialist notes and imaging.
  • I enjoyed working in a team environment with other health practitioners. I covered reception often when the permanent staff were on annual and sick leave. This was a great experience as it helped me build my communication, problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
  • Maternity leave from this position in November 2020, then went on to Newtown Acupuncture after 9 months off work.

Acupuncturist

Steiner – P&O Cruise line
01.2014 - 01.2016

I completed two contracts as an acupuncturist for a Day-Spa company called Steiner - working on board large cruise liners. This was heavily sales and revenue based. My wage worked on commission of treatments and product sales, therefore it was very important for me to have strong sales skills. I have also gained marketing skills with this position because it was essential to bring in my own clients to keep business booming every cruise. Every day I held seminars for passengers to enlighten them on the benefits of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and the positive impacts it will have on their health. I am very confident with public speaking. This position significantly improved my customer relation skills. It was important to co-operate well with team members as I worked with a team of 23 staff. From this I have learnt the importance of building relationships with team members to create a successful referral network and working as a team to build a strong client base.
