Kyla Leary

Christchurch,CAN

Summary

Kia ora, my name is Kyla Leary, and I take great joy in making positive contributions in team and community settings. Having participated in various team sports such as netball, basketball, volleyball, and touch has allowed me to develop good skills in communication, teamwork, and leadership. Growing up in Te Ao Māori culture has helped instill the values of whakawhanaungatanga, manaakitanga, and aroha into my nature and the way that I deal with others. I have actively engaged in marae service by participating in cooking, hosting guests, and performing cultural dances for community functions and honored guests, such as having the pleasure of serving the Māori Queen during her visit to Whakatū Marae. All these have contributed significantly towards enabling me to work in a respectful and efficient manner in busy and team-oriented settings while at the same time caring for others.
