With over 25 years in the medical field, transitioning from a Medical Records Clerk to Practice Manager, I excel in administrative excellence and team leadership, notably at NORTHLAND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH. My background showcases a commitment to efficient clinic management and a passion for both human and animal care, underpinned by strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
We have 5 part time doctors, 4 nurses, 4 reception/admin staff. I am responsible in maintaining a functional happy work environment for all, resolving any conflict that may occur, staff appraisals, hiring and orientation of new staff.
We are a integrated clinic, with half our doctors being natural minded, the other half standard GP. We have an IVC/EDTA clinic that runs 3 days a week. Associated with us is also an Ozone Therapist and Doctor.
I am responsible for the day to day running of the practice, organising cover when a staff member is on leave, pay the wages, a small amount of accounting, foundation standards, ACC, patient complaints, computer issues, claiming, attending PM meetings, general Practice Manager duties. I do have the support of our Clinical Director.
I quite often relieve on front desk answering phones, making appointments, helping our patients out. I enjoy having the one to one contact with the patients.
We had a very small team consisting of 1 doctor, 1 nurse and myself doing reception and admin and foundation. Even with only 1 doctor, we were a very busy medical centre, but with a great team it worked very smoothly.
We were a busy medical centre consisting of 5 doctors, 5 nurses and a physio.
I was the sole receptionist answering phones, making appointments, and taking payments. I also did a lot of general reception duties, including typing of doctor letters, and monthly invoicing.
It was a busy job being the sole receptionist, but we had a great team, an amazing practice manager, and it all ran well.
My main role was reception duties, however I also helped the vets on farm appointments, and a lot of vet nurse duties. This job was quite vary which made it fun and exciting. I left this position to have my first baby.
My main role here was filing hard notes, collating notes for clinics for the surgeons, preparing files for patient transfer. Dictating and typing surgeon letters. Very busy job, but really enjoyable. I left this position to pursue my love of animals and to work at a veterinary clinic
