Accomplishments

  • Health Quality & Safety Commission Co-design ‘Partners in Care’ project 2019-2020. Lead Sponsor for Counties Manukau Health’ project: ‘Walking with you – Preparing for cancer treatment’. The project team included clinicians from multi-disciplinary services investigating various factors impacting access and timely care for Pasifika women on endometrial cancer pathways. Focus groups and interviews of patients and clinicians were conducted over several months. A co-designed information pamphlet was developed, tested, and implemented in Women’s Health and the project was published on the HQSC website. This was a very rewarding project to lead, and the patient stories gave us rich insight into improvement of care delivery for all patients.
  • Leading Quality Care – 2019. I was put forward for this very rewarding course, which was facilitated by external training providers, and which covered all aspects of effective management of teams. There was a strong focus on leading healthcare teams through change and quality improvement work from concept to implementation.
