I started Part time work for Erix Contracting Limited in 2016, along side my Early childhood Diploma.

My role at Erix Contracting Limited consists of the following:

• Organizing meetings and arranging appointments.
• Financial data entry on Xero.
• Ordering uniforms, screen printing and stationery.
• Managing office budgets.
• Chasing late payments.
• Site Visits.
• Builderscrack tracking and reconditioning.
• Co-Ordinating with company Accountant, Insurance Brokers, and other related businesses.
• General cleaning and upkeep of office.
• Ordering and tracking materials necessary for upcoming jobs

I first joined Spotted Frog as part of my practicum placement while completing my diploma. After completing my studies, I was offered a permanent position and became part of the team. I later made the decision to leave Spotted Frog to provide full-time support to Erix Contracting, where my involvement became essential to daily operations.

My role at Spotted Frog consisted of:

• Engaging children in a variety of activities and making sure that their well-being is put first.
• Teaching and expanding their knowledge through role play.
• Group time supervision and activity planning.
• Connecting with parents and children on individual levels.
• General Daily duties including but are not limited to, Toilet runs, Morning tea monitoring, clean up at required time, and taking Mat time.

I began my journey with home-based care after recognizing a genuine need for alternative support for children who didn’t quite fit into the traditional school system. This role also allowed me the meaningful opportunity to care for my own children and nephews before and after school. I balanced this alongside my other job and studies.

• Duties included: Pickups, drop offs, Homework, Breakfast and afternoon tea, Baking, Planned activities, Excursions to the park or local swimming pools etc, Supervision during free time.

• Supervision of 6 Sites: Mangere Bridge, Waterlea, Onehunga, Oranga, Mount Roskill, and Mary Mackillop primary.
• Assisting with Inductions, Behavior Management, and all training required for my 25 staff members.
• Management, coaching and facilitation.
• Programme planning for school term, and Holidays.
• Co-ordinating with parents and all six of the above Schools.
• All HR requirements.
• In charge of all weekly paperwork such as, incident and accident reports, safety and hazard checklists, signing parents up, and assisting with work and income forms.
• Teaching and interacting with all children, ensuring that we run a fun and safe programme that sets us apart from other child care providers.
