Summary

Dedicated and experienced registered nurse with 15 years of experience nursing in the UK, Australia and New Zealand across varying specialties. My early nursing experience was in the challenging fast-paced environment of an Emergency department in a busy UK hospital where I was afforded the opportunity to gain an excellent foundation to my career. I gained a wealth of knowledge nursing through an agency in Melbourne across a variety of medical, surgical and critical care areas before a brief period of aged care in the sunshine coast. Over the past eight years I have been providing comprehensive post-operative nursing care in PACU in NZ.

I consider myself to be a dynamic nurse, keen to learn and reflect on my practice at all times. I feel I work as a valued team member and have good working relationships with my colleague, patients and whanau, along with working with other organisations I come into contact with. I have participated in all in house training, proficient in level 6 NZRC and have attended numerous courses over the years to optimise my knowledge. I have worked on a several quality improvement initiatives in my current role to optimise patient safety and efficacy of care and maintain a proficient PDRP. I have an excellent attendance record at work, good time management and organisational skills which are reflected in my practice. I have also been given the opportunity to step up in my current role to co-ordinate staff and patient flow while my team leader is away. I am passionate about my role as a nurse and recognised that from an early age that I have an aptitude and desire in caring for people.
