Managing five staff in the Environmental Health and Liquor Team in the delivery of inspections and enforcement activities for the associated roles, including food inspections in Central Otago District council.

Responsible for: The management of a Senior Environmental Health Officer and Technical Officer dealing with private sector housing matters, disability grants and houses in multiple occupation.

• Successful enforcement matters regarding landlord/tenant disputes
• Strong knowledge of the Housing Act, Public Health Acts, Building Act and Caravan site and Control of Development Act
• Monitoring and prioritising the teams caseload
• Managing budgets and processing mandatory and discretionary grants
• Management of Illegal caravan sites, Gypsies and the travelling community
• Developing strategies and operational procedures

Responsible for: the management of two Food Safety Officers, to enforce food safety and health and safety legislation within food premises, through programmed inspections and responding to complaints.

Responsible for dealing with food and health and safety matters throughout Rochford district, including public entertainment licensing (alcohol licensing).
