Work History

Site Manager

9Yards Projects Limited
08.2022 - 08.2024
  • In March 2020, I registered my small business due to the fact that, in a lot of my previous years in the industry, working under other small companies, I was always waiting for my wages, or I would only receive a fraction of my wages until they had money to pay us.
  • Most of this work was residential, focusing on extensions, kitchen renovations or upgrades, bathroom renovations, piling, new decks, stairs, both wood and concrete, fences, floor renovations, concrete slabs, two private driveways in Remuera, and 24 subdivision driveways in Takanini.
  • All the excavation was done by me, and I prepped together with my team of four.
  • We hired a pump, and we laid the concrete; all driveway concretes were exposed and finished. The majority of this work was in Auckland, and only a few were outside of Auckland.
  • Three months in Tauranga working on a two-bedroom extension and also a 14m x 4.4m deck with steps.
  • 9 weeks in Taupo, working on a kitchen and bathroom renovation.
  • Two home renovations were in Hamilton: a whole kitchen, including the floor. We were there for 14 weeks.
  • The other was a long outside stair; I split it into two levels. This was redesigned and built by me with a hammer. (within the code of compliance)
  • It’s very hard to compete with the other small businesses, as they do a lot of undercutting, and I’m pretty much left with the crumbs. Hence, I’m folding up and looking for permanent work with a good company that can see my work ethic, experience, and skills, and put them to work.
  • I was also delivering and installing signs for ABC Photosigns in the whole of Bay of Plenty, Tauranga, Taupo, Whakatane, Tokoroa, Te Puke, to Potikirua Point. I also covered up here in Manukau Heads, Clarks Beach, and the whole of South Auckland.
