At this point in my life I have worked in many industries. Farming and Retail, Food Production and Garage door installation, Fibre installation and Bee Keeping, and now approaching 10 years in the Data Centre business. This has given me a broad range of transferrable skills to pull from in a wide range of situations. I have worked with people from all over the world including Africa, The Philippines, Fiji, Scotland, Pakistan, Australia and Argentina, to name a few. This has given me direct exposure to people of all cultures, religions and walks of life. I feel that my biggest strengths are effective communication and being a fast learner.
Some of the systems I am involved with are Electrical, Generators, HVAC, Fire detection and suppression, UPS and batteries, to name a few.
There is more, but I will leave it here for the sake of brevity. I welcome any questions and the chance to elaborate on my responsibilities.
The duties for my Operator role were essentially the same as the Data Centre Technician role, just with less complicated things and less responsibility.
In my personal time I like to keep fit, tend my garden, and experiment with new cooking recipes. I am very enthusiastic about music, and am always looking for a good new album or song. I build gaming computers for friends and family, and really enjoy the optimization process of overclocking and fiddling with the BIOS for maximum performance efficiency. I'm a Dad to a little girl, and spending time with my family is very important to me.
