- Receive and check incoming goods, and match them with the appropriate purchase orders for the office to check off.
- Maintain stock of steel, aluminium and consumables (bolts/nuts, grinding/cutting/sanding discs, etc.) to ensure smooth operations in the workshop.
- Complete a list of daily, weekly, and fortnightly tasks (e.g. refilling cutting fluid for saws) in order to keep the workshop tidy and organized, and allow the fabricators to do their job easier.
- Use initiative to improve the workshop, for example finding new locations for tools.
- Minor fabrication work - cutting steel pieces to the correct length (to the millimetre), marking and drilling holes, etc., maintaining quality control by coordinating with the production manager.
- Painting completed jobs, often multiple coats, whether in the workshop or on site.
- Transport completed jobs to and from off-site services (galvanising, powdercoating) via truck, ensuring quality control throughout to avoid damage to the goods e.g. scratches.
- Deliver completed jobs to customers when applicable.
- Pick up orders of steel, aluminium, or fasteners (bolts/nuts) to be brought back to the workshop for production.
