I will graduate from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours degree in Civil Engineering at the end of 2023. I possess a strong passion for contributing to civil construction projects.
My practical experience as a laboratory technician has honed my skills and instilled a commitment to quality work. Known for reliability and attention to detail, I take pride in achieving excellence in every task.
Collaborative work and maintaining composure under pressure are qualities I bring to a team environment. My aspiration is to leverage my knowledge, skills, and dedication in a civil engineering role, actively contributing to projects and upholding standards of excellence.
In my comprehensive final-year project, conducted in collaboration with a project partner, I delved into various aspects of civil engineering. Focusing on sedimentation analysis in the Rangitata Division Race (RDR) downstream of the Rangitata River, our project assessed the efficacy of a new fish screen in sediment removal. Engaging with NIWA and employing advanced measurement techniques, such as the Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP), showcased my commitment to continuous improvement and adaptability in the field.
Self-learning the operation of the ADCP for river profile measurement demonstrated my proactive approach. The project involved meticulous planning, frequent field activities, and the use of specialized equipment, including an inflatable motor boat. This hands-on experience further enhanced my attention to detail, risk assessment capabilities, and dedication to maintaining rigorous standards in data collection and interpretation.
