Nearing the end of my bachelors degree, i am eager to get a head start on my career perusing environmental management. My education and work experience has provided me with knowledge and skills of which i am excited to test. I am also always ready to take learning and development opportunities, which will keep me motivated and working towards greater outcomes. I thrive working with others towards a common goal and excel under mentorship, while also having the ability to think critically and take initiative.
I have worked for Riverspace ltd on environmental restoration and protection projects, which have included the control of pest plants and pest animals. a day at this job could have covered many different activities such as maintaining bait stations, GPS navigation, planting native trees, spraying pest plants, as well as working alongside and supervising other contractors working towards a common goal.
Along with these tasks, i also had to manage health and safety risks, communicate and work closely with local land owners and council staff, organise team members and ensure work was completed to a high standard, on time.
All of this has provided me with many skills such as clear communication, time management, attention to detail, navigation skills and, an appetite for hard work.
This included serving customers, stacking shelves, balancing cash registers, stock take and making orders for the shop.
These responsibilities helped develop my people skills and taught me to be patient with customers, it also improved my communication in a professional environment and taught me to deal with conflict professionally.
