Loretta Wirihana

Napier City,HKB

Summary

I bring lived experience of family violence through my upbringing and past relationships. Supporting myself and my children through those challenges has strengthened my resilience and deepened my understanding of the impacts violence can have on whānau. These experiences have shaped my commitment to supporting positive change and promoting non-violence within our communities. Through my involvement with Te Hāhi Aotearoa , I walk alongside whānau guided by kaupapa Māori values such as manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and aroha, helping to create safe and respectful spaces where people feel heard and supported. This background supports my ability to contribute meaningfully to a Kai Ringahora Non-Violence Programme, where I can hold space with empathy while encouraging reflection, accountability, and safer ways of relating for individuals and whānau.
