I currently work at Humanimals, where I began as a casual locum, working between the Gardens and Humanimals locations. Eventually, I fully transitioned to Humanimals, becoming a part-time VNA. I thoroughly enjoy my role and the opportunity to get to know our clients. During my time here, I have undertaken a variety of responsibilities, from reception to hospital nursing, including all diagnostic procedures and nurse consultations.
Main Skills
During my VNA studies, I completed a student placement at the St. Kilda clinic. Here, I was actively engaged in all tasks, which significantly advanced my learning skills. While I was in the process of being hired by Carol, the former practice manager, the clinic unfortunately closed down. Consequently, my application was forwarded to the Pet Doctors in the Gardens.
Murry's was the second clinic where I completed my student placements during my VNA studies. I was able to expand my skills and experience within the veterinary setting as this clinic operates two theatre rooms and also treats and provides care to livestock. Although livestock care is not my area of qualification, gaining basic knowledge and hands-on experience in this section of veterinary nursing broadened my appreciation for animal welfare. Additionally, I learned about different types of medical treatment and laboratory diagnostics for all animals, enriching my overall understanding of veterinary practices.
