Growing up in North Canterbury on a sheep farm, I learnt from a young age the value in an honest days work.
Currently I work as a nurse and have been doing this for five years throughout a range of jobs in New Zealand. From this experience I have learnt a variety of skills including; how to communicate efficiently and effectively with team members as well as patients and family members, to work independently but collaborate cohesively with colleges and how to manage my own work load whilst balancing and assisting others with theirs. The work in acute settings can be stressful and challenging at times, I feel this has enhanced my time management and prioritizing skills allowing me to be calm and collected under pressure.
