I am a young Pacific Island women that has a passion for equal, quality, culturally oriented and meaningful education. My work and background connects to my passion, and helps me understand the influence of teachers and the importance of having a strengths based approach to teaching and learning. It is vital for the education system in New Zealand to understand that education is reciprocal and is a shared responsibility. There is strength in understanding that it 'takes a village'; and how teachers, learners, whanau and communities should always be at the centre of educational research. I aim to continue contributing to the existing Pacific research and frameworks; but also build and establish new connections that can contribute and progress Tagata o Le Moana in New Zealand and around the world.
