Mal Ensing

For the past year and a half I have been working on several projects as an independent building contactor. This has given me experience in a wide range of construction types and methods, allowing me to gather skills and knowledge i had not acquired in my career previously.

These projects range from large, high end renovations; transportable minor dwellings; rural farm building and feed pads; steel structure and structural concrete nib walls.

This role has allowed me to work directly with clients and sub-contractors and develop great working relationships, which is akey part of my passion within the industry.

My role was to complete high end spec houses and renovations from start to finish. Ace builders was the main contractor on these jobs and this required a range of skills both in the practical sense and communication and planning skills.

My career in the construction industry began with MRB builders, this is where I gathered the required skills and knowledge as an apprentice to become a qualified carpenter.

I soon became the site foreman and supervised the day to day running on site.

This required effective decision making, delegation of work and time management and prioritization of tasks in order to maintain build quality and keep projects on schedule.

I also was able to be involved in clients. This is a very rewarding part of the industry for me. Working with clients to make exciting processes stress free and enjoyable is something I find great personal satisfaction in.
