Working with tamariki is my absolute passion. I believe in knowing each learner as an individual and creating opportunities for them to flourish academically, socially and emotionally. This year, I have worked alongside a student and her whānau to build confidence and self-belief. This mahi reminded me how powerful authentic relationships are in unlocking potential.
My understanding of Te Ao Māori continues to grow. I intentionally create a culturally responsive space grounded in manaakitanga, whakapapa, tikanga and whanaungatanga. I incorporate mihi, karakia, waiata, and pōwhiri as authentic parts of our classroom culture, helping tamariki develop a strong sense of identity and connection.
