I have a strong work ethic and set myself high standards which allowed me to work hard and gain acceptance into medical school. I enjoy meeting and working with all types of people, which has proven beneficial in all previous working environments. I enjoy working with children and thinking of creative activities as well as cooking healthy meals for them. I have a St John's First Aid Certificate and a full New Zealand driver's license.
Last summer, I worked for Pukeora Estate doing a variety of jobs. I sanded and painted houses, fixed windows and many other odd jobs, learning a wide range of skills.
Worked for two summers at Silver Fern Farms Freezing Works, packaging meat on the process line. This was a very confronting and stressful environment and I believe I learnt many skills from this, which I continue to use daily such as time management, the ability to work under pressure and the ability to get along with people from all backgrounds.
In charge of a class for after-school preparatory class where year eleven boarding students completed homework each night. I helped them with any problems and kept them on task.
Helped to organise holiday programmes and children's activities. I also did some cleaning and various other work.
Cared for three children every few weeks over many years. I would cook them meals, play games with them, do fun activities with them and make sure the house was clean and tidy.
Thinned apples for my summer job. This was hard work but I enjoyed it.
