Marika Bowden-king

In my role at Nando’s I do a range of jobs, including; managing front of house which involves interacting with customers, operating the till, cleaning tables and ensuring the all-round smooth running of the restaurant.

In addition to this, I work in the kitchen were I prepare, cook and plate meals while keeping up hygienic practices for food
safety.

My various skills allows me to perform any role in the restaurant. This role has enabled me to build skills such as; customer service, thinking under pressure and performing a wide range of tasks in a single shift. I pride myself on my communication skills when dealing with tricky customers and when interacting with my diverse colleagues.

At the markets, I manage front-of-house operations, greeting visitors, handling entry fees and change, and directing customers to stalls of interest. I enjoy the social aspect of the role, interacting with a wide variety of people and helping them find what they’re looking for. Working at the popular Isla Market has also given me valuable insight into the fashion world, particularly with preloved designer clothing.
