Accomplishments

  • 2022: Supported the ramp up of our Airline as the COVID-19 border restrictions were removed, including the recruitment of Cabin Crew, as well as leading the procurement of Cabin Crew accommodation & ground transport and the overall management of our trip costs (FY25 NZ$ 100M).
  • 2020: Led the 777 fleet response to COVID-19, including the repatriation of 193 New Zealanders from Wuhan, the grounding of our 777 fleet & the safe return of our Cabin Crew to New Zealand when our borders closed, and the consultation process that followed where we unfortunately had to reduce our Cabin Crew workforce by 950 roles (62%).
  • 2019: Successfully negotiated a new collective agreement with Unite the Union (UK) representing approximately 130 Air New Zealand Cabin Crew based in London, United Kingdom, which included a base closure agreement covering the next 12 months of operations upon the announcement that Air New Zealand would be withdrawing from flying to London Heathrow in October 2020.
  • 2019: Successfully negotiated a new 3 year collective agreement with E Tū representing approximately 1000 Air New Zealand Cabin Crew based in New Zealand.
  • 2018 – 2021: Senior Leader Sponsor of the Manu Network (Māori and Pasifika Employee Network at Air New Zealand).
  • 2017 - current: A founding member of Te Ara Nui, a rōpū of 6 people from Cabin Crew that was initially created to design & deliver Cabin Crew graduations at Te Manukanuka o Hoturoa Marae, and quickly grew to over 150 people across all parts of Air New Zealand to provide cultural support to other key events for Air New Zealand both internally, and externally. In 2019 Te Rōpū Te Ara Nui won the Cultural Celebration Award at the Diversity Works NZ Awards based on the accomplishments we had achieved over the previous 2 years.
  • 2016 - 2017: Attained 100% Team Engagement in consecutive years as measured by the Aon Hewitt Employee Engagement Survey.
