I was born in the UK and lived 23 years in the moderately sized city of Norwich and Norfolk. I left school at 16 to begin employment and education in the horticultural area.
I left Norwich at 23 to experience London for two years. Here I worked mainly in the photography studios and public house.
I left the UK for 3 years in Australia where I worked in restaurants mainly, learning the food industry and to mainly fund travel.
After two years back in Norwich where I worked my own gardening firm I left for New Zealand.
I have resided in the Wellington region now since my immigration.
I have both NZ and British citizenship.
Responsible for ensuring a safe, functional physical environment for the college, as well as overseeing that the college complies in full with any current legislation to ensure the physical safety of staff and students.
A sound Knowledge of computer systems and software relating to the running of the school,these include Heating, Air conditioning, Automatic Door systems and ordering packages.
Brilliant interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with staff, all the relevant contractors and the wider community.
Security - making sure the site is safe during and after hours and dealing with the relevant external companies for this to happen. Control of all door opening hours and key manufacturing and supply.
Health & Safety - Ensuring compliancy for the school, including the yearly WOF. To identify and remove or minimalise any hazards. To be an active member of the Health & Safety Committee.
Maintenance - to control the school's maintenance budget and ensure the assets are maintained and that the environment of the College is well maintained and pleasant. To delegate work internally and with external contracts to ensure this happens.
Projects - TO manage and supervise major and minor projects deemed necessary for the modernization and updating of the site.
Staff - To manage the Property Team, including supervision, advice, support and employment issues.
Communication - To daily, weekly and with reports to the board relay Property related information and to respond to requests from The Board, senior management and staff.
Hiring of Facilities - To deal with hirers in relation to physical requirements.
Emergency Contacts - To deal with the Fire Service in cases of evacuations or major situations including Earthquake, Fire and Shutdowns.
Cleaning Contract - To Communicate with the encumbered Cleaning company and deal with any issues that arise.
To manage and tend to all the Property minatenace issues that would arise on a daily basis.
Ensuring a safe, healthy and flowing work environment was in tow for 600 staff
Running a store that had sales of $750k - $800k per year.
Organizing and supervising 25 staff.
Everything that would entail the fluent running of such a business.
