- I underwent basic training in Waiouru for 16 weeks, leaning basic soldiering skills, teamwork and resilience
- Following that I took part in a Basic Combat Engineering Course, where I learned a broad range of skills across areas like bridging, boating, demolitions, mine clearance, chainsaw skills and more
- In April 2019 I began my Carpentry Certificate Level 4 / Light timber construction which I completed in November 2022
- Since then I have been working at 2nd Engineer Regiment as a carpenter on various projects like major disability renovations, new builds and renovations of housing stock
- Last year i started taking a lead role in projects, where i was in charge of reading and interpreting plans, liasing with sub-contractors, completing carpentry work to trade-standard and leading a small team of carpenters
