I have been a member of Opotiki Mai Tawhiti Kapa Haka since I was 14 years old.  I have performed every year since. Opotiki Mai Tawhiti was established in 1995 with the aspiration to revitalise Te Reo Māori and the Māori culture in Opotiki.
