Tasks and Responsibilities:


  • This Role is to supervise the operation of the Men's Residential facility and ensure the safety of all our Whaiora by conducting regular safety checks, addressing potential hazards, and enforcing Odyssey House's policies.
  • Develop a strong rapport with our whaiora by consistently demonstrating respect, understanding, and genuine concern for their wellbeing. We have established trusting relationships with our whaiora and their whanau through empathetic communication and active listening.
  • Support our whaiora to manage and reach individual goals, independent progression, and social skills.
  • Document our whaiora's progress and activities in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Collaborated with our multi-clinical team and other professionals to plan and coordinate care for clients, i.e., Therapists, Keyworkers, Probation, etc
  • Facilitated group sessions to assist our whaiora in developing coping skills and setting realistic goals to promote positive change.

  • Safeguard their wellbeing by monitoring health conditions, administering medications, reporting changes to appropriate medical professionals, and coordinating appointments for our whaiora with healthcare providers.
  • Audit all medication errors for incident reports and sort and dispose of expired/unused medication to be returned to the pharmacy.
  • Complete on-site drug testing and documentation of lab results recorded.
  • Ensuring our whaiora's Privacy and confidentiality are upheld.
