Hi, my name is Maya Woods. I am currently in my second year of studying towards a Bachelor of Sport at the University of Canterbury, majoring in Sports Management and Marketing and minoring in Performance Analysis. I am very passionate about what I am studying towards and am looking forward to gaining work experience in this field. I graduated Villa Maria College in 2022 and have coached volleyball and netball teams here. For the past four years I have coached year 9, 10 and senior netball teams here. I am very interested in helping other people and guiding them to reach their full potential. I have enjoyed being able to work with people one on one and in groups. As a coach, I aimed to build their confidence and enrich them in love for netball from the start to the end of the season and beyond. After coaching volleyball and netball over the past few years, I have realized my strength and passion is within this role. My strengths are communicating with the girls, teaching new skills, and building a good relationship with them. I pride myself in my interpersonal skills and I feel great joy when watching them grow as players.
I believe that it is good to have a balance in life, so I try to make sure I am doing things that I enjoy, like being active, spending time with my family and friends. I love playing and coaching netball and enjoy my job as a waitress at the Good Home.
