Intern Psychologist

Department of Corrections

  • In my final internship, I was placed at the Kia Marama Special Treatment Unit at Rolleston Prison. Here I co-facilitated group treatments for people who sexually offended against children, as well as providing psychological therapy to individual clients with mental health difficulties. 02.2022 - 09.2022
  • Being able to assess and treat many clients with a range of presenting difficulties, within a multidisciplinary team, and by using a range of modalities, provided many learning experiences that feel invaluable for my development as a clinician. Here, I learned how to optimise my supervision time and am adapting to a full-time caseload.

Community Support Worker

Pathways

  • As a community support worker, I assisted mentally ill, community-based individuals with their medication program, planning, and daily needs. These illnesses include various mood and anxiety disorders, psychosis, intellectual disabilities, personality disorders and trauma-related disorders.
